Email sent 6/19/2012 to group email list from Norm Echelberry
Note: if you do not want to be on a group list that is blind copied to everyone on the airport noise issue, (replies do not go out to everyone that received this) let me know. I changed email programs while gone and am restructuring my address books./ After a extended vacation, from April 25 to June 7 out of town and no aircraft constantly flying over where I was, I returned home and within five minutes was greeted by a flight school plane flying low over the house. I have been busy and not able to document many of the flights that have been annoying but will describe some below. Daily reports are too bothersome, so if there are enough notable days during a week, I will do a weekly review. The aircraft that seem most to continue to fly off the requested noise abatement path requested by the City of Ormond Beach is Euro American School of Aviation and Embry Riddle aircraft. The days I have documented items on were: June 12, June 14, June 15 and June 17. On Father's Day, Sunday June 17, almost every five minutes between 9:45 am and 10:45 am noisy airplanes flew over my home . Only one went out over the river and followed the path but came back over the house on the return to the airport. Eventually about 11 am a twin engine took off to the east and headed south, maybe back to Daytona Beach. Also, I still have the opinion that many of these airplanes that do not follow the requested path are solo flights by students that have no regard for where they are flying and only want to get back to the airport and finish their training. I have videos and still photos of the aircrafft mentioned below. I am aware that the City of Ormond Beach has *no *control over where they fly, yet one school in particular is based at the Ormond Beach airport (Euro American School of Aviation). Also, Embry Riddle seems to have really went back to the way they flew before the Noise Abatement Committee. The Ormond Beach Airport Manager appeared to have their cooperation at one time but obviously something is not working. Not all aircraft flying off the path were photographed or video recorded because I had other things I was doing at the same time. Also, some observations were made from my boat while in the Tomoka River. This information and others I received just prior to leaving April 25 will be added to my web site in the next week or so.
